The Bridgewater Mill Sparkling NV Adelaide Hill Pinot Noir Chardonnay has taken out the Throsby Creek Oenological Phalanx top award in a ceremony in the Hunter Valley last night. This great sparkling provided by the queen of bubbles, Sally, won the award on the back of its the great marks awarded by the Phalanx and it's keen price - $28.

The Petersons 2005 'Back Block' Shiraz took out the Red Wine of the Year (awarded to Peter) and the 2007 Two Churches Riesling, great value at $12, took out White Wine of the Year. Sheila took out the Host of the Year Award.

Special thanks to Adrian for organising the Awards weekend, and a thanks to Maryanne and Bob McLeish from McLeish Wines who looked after us with a special tasting which included us giving them their 2008 Wine of the Year trophy.
